Former Macedonian President Ivanov visits St George Hospital in Kogarah NSW

Former  Macedonian President Dr Gjorgji Ivanov on his visit to Australia visited the St George Hospital in Kogarah. Hosted by one of the world renowned ENT specialist Prof.Dr Zoran Becvarovski and members of the Macedonian community have paid a visit to the Nuclear medicine and Breast Screening sections where they were greeted by two eminent professors  Dr Patrick Butler and Dr Peter Graham.

Prof. Dr Becvarovski’s initiative as a president of the Australian Macedonian Medical Society and the Macedonian community to get together and do a fundraiser for the Gasnier Foundation towards a new PET Scanner for the hospital played major role for the hospital and the patients to get the critical equipment said Dr Butler.

The former President Gjorge Ivanov supported the Gasnier Foundation and Australian Macedonian Medical Society via Video link message on the night of the Fundraising event where $100,000 was raised.

Dr Butler has informed  that approximately 10,000 PET scans have been performed since its installation on February 13, 2017 and 15 are being done per day now.

Another initiative of Prof. Dr Becvarovki and the Macedonian Community was the Breast Cancer Table.

Dr Peter Graham  has informed  that approximately 150 patients  have been treated  since installation in Feb 2015. (aged 50-75).

The Former First Lady was the Patron of the Australian Macedonian Medical Society and also sent a Video link message on the night of the Fundraising event for the PRONE BREAST CANCER table.

 

The visit ended with a meeting with the General Manager of the Hospital Mrs  Rebbeca Tyson. President Ivanov has presented a Macedonian Shield to Mrs Tyson . Mrs Tyson praised the effort of Dr Becvarovski Australian Macedonian Medical Society and the Macedonian Community in general for the generous donations.
