The creators of Darko Biberko are “Kalina and Nev Neskoska the power sister duo originally from Ohrid, Macedonia. The Neskoski family relocated to Chicago, Illinois when Kalina and Nev were just 13 and 8 years old. Having grown up in Macedonia, they developed a strong sense of longing and a heightened pride for their homeland. Naturally, this pride translated into advocating for Macedonia through music and video content.
They directed and filmed “The M Word,” a social experiment that stresses the importance of the Macedonian identity. The ambitious duo gained their popularity trough their viral songs “Makedonija Zemjo Najmila” and “Vardare Vardare,” reviving hope in thousands of Macedonians worldwide. Kalina and Nev also created the first animated Macedonian children’s show of its kind – Darko Biberko. The show is geared towards teaching Macedonian through sing-along episodes and includes lessons about Macedonian culture and traditions. The Neskoski sisters wear their love for their homeland on their sleeve and have many more creative and innovative works down the pipeline to promote the treasures of Macedonia.”
